General Pest Control

  • What does general pest control include?

General pest control covers common pests like ants, spiders, earwigs, silverfish, and more. It typically includes interior inspection and exterior perimeter treatments to prevent future activity.

  • How often should I schedule pest control service?

Most homes do well with quarterly service, though heavy-activity areas may need monthly or bi-monthly treatments.

  • Is pest control safe for children and pets?

Yes. Licensed professionals use EPA-approved products applied in targeted areas to ensure safety once dry.

  • Why do pests come back even after treatment?

Weather, environmental changes, and new entry points can introduce new pests. Routine maintenance keeps barriers active.

  • Do I need to leave my home during treatment?

For general treatments, no. Some specialty treatments (fleas, heavy German roaches, bed bugs) may require temporary leave.

  • What payment options do you offer?

Most companies accept credit cards, cash, and online payments. Many offer service plans or prepay discounts.

  • What if I need additional treatment in between my regular service?

Give our office a call! There’s no additional charge to get your technician out to treat for any issues that are covered under your service agreement.

  • How much does an annual service cost?

Since every situation is different, our goal at Best is to make sure we take the homeowners needs , pest problem, and environmental factors into consideration when providing our free estimates.

  • Is my technician suppose to spray inside every service?

Inside service is treated on an “as needed” basis, we preform mainly an X-Ter Ban service to try and eliminate pest problems from their outside source and reduce the amount of pesticides in the home.

Roaches / German Roaches

  • How do I know if I have roaches or German roaches?

German roaches are small, light brown, and usually found in kitchens/bathrooms. Larger roaches (like American or palmetto bugs) are commonly found in basements or drains.

  • What should I do to prepare for a German roach treatment?

You may need to empty cabinets, declutter, clean crumbs/grease, store food, and follow the prep list provided.

  • How long does it take to eliminate a German roach infestation?

Light cases may be gone in 1–2 weeks, while heavy infestations often take 4–6 weeks and require follow-ups.

Termites / Subterranean Termites

  • Are termite treatments really necessary?

Yes. Subterranean termites can cause extensive structural damage and often go undetected until the problem is severe.

  • What are signs that I may have subterranean termites?

Mud tubes, bubbling paint, hollow-sounding wood, and discarded wings near windowsills are common indicators.

  • What’s the difference between drywood termites and subterranean termites?

Drywood termites live inside dry wood and don’t need soil contact; subterranean termites live underground and build mud tubes to enter structures.

  • Are termite inspections free?

Many companies offer free basic inspections; however, real-estate/WDI reports may have a small fee.

  • How long do termite treatments last?

Liquid treatments can last 5–10 years. Bait systems require ongoing monitoring.

  • Can I prevent termites myself?

You can lower risk by reducing moisture, repairing leaks, and keeping wood away from soil — but full protection requires professional treatment.

  • How do I know if I have termites?

Signs of acticve infestations are seeing dead or alive termites , mud tubes on walls or foundations, hollowed out wood , and piles of termites droppings (frass).

  • I see frass / wings after my fumigation, does this mean I still have termites?

A fumigation only kills the targeted pest, it does not make the damage go away. Vibratons in the homes can knock loose old damage if no repairs are made after.

Rodents

  • How do rodent control services work?

Rodent control includes inspection, sealing entry points, setting traps or bait stations, and follow-up monitoring.

  • What are signs of a rodent infestation?

Droppings, scratching noises, gnaw marks, nesting materials, grease trails, or foul odors indicate activity.

  • Will rodents go away on their own?

No. Rodents reproduce rapidly and require trapping, exclusion, and sanitation to eliminate.

  • How do rodents get into my home?

Mice can enter through dime-sized holes; rats through quarter-sized openings. Common entry points include vents, roof gaps, and foundation cracks.

  • Do you offer wildlife removal?

Many pest control companies handle wildlife such as raccoons, squirrels, bats, and opossums, including trapping and exclusion.

Lawn Care Fertilization

  • How often should my lawn be fertilized?

Most lawns need fertilization every 6–8 weeks during the growing season, typically 4–7 treatments per year depending on your grass type and climate.

  • Is fertilizer safe for pets and children?

Yes. Once the product has fully dried or been watered in, it’s safe for pets and children to return to the lawn.

  • Will fertilization help with weeds?

Fertilization strengthens your lawn, making it thicker and more resistant to weeds. Combined with pre-emergent and weed control treatments, it significantly reduces weed growth.

  • Why does my lawn have brown or thin spots?

Brown or thin areas can result from drought stress, pests, disease, compacted soil, or lack of nutrients. A lawn care technician can diagnose the issue and recommend a treatment plan.

  • Do I need to water my lawn after fertilization?

Yes. Watering helps activate the fertilizer and ensures nutrients reach the root zone. Your technician will tell you whether to water immediately or wait until later in the day.

Mosquito Control

  • How does mosquito treatment work?

Technicians apply a targeted mist to shrubs, foliage, and shaded areas where mosquitoes breed and rest. This reduces the population and creates a protective barrier.

  • How long does mosquito treatment last?

Most treatments last about 3–4 weeks, depending on weather conditions and mosquito activity in your area.

  • Is mosquito treatment safe for my family and pets?

Yes. Products are applied in controlled amounts and are safe once the treated areas have dried—usually within 30 minutes.

  • Can mosquito control reduce bites immediately?

Yes. Many customers notice a significant decrease in mosquito activity within the first 24 hours after treatment.

  • What can I do to help reduce mosquitoes around my home?

Eliminate standing water, clean gutters, trim overgrown vegetation, and make sure your yard drains properly. These steps help amplify professional treatments.
